Sports tourist attractions in Gauteng

There are nine Gautrain stations in operation, two of which are situated in Pretoria. One being Pretoria Station (located adjacent to the existing Pretoria Main Station) and the other, Hatfield Station (located within the Hatfield Business Node east of the Pretoria CBD). The other stations include Centurion, Midrand, Marlboro, Sandton, Rosebank, Rhodesfield and O.R. Tambo International Airport.

Pretoria Station

The Gautrain’s Pretoria Station is located adjacent to the existing Pretoria station with its historic Herbert Baker Station Building, an important landmark in the City of Tshwane.

The Pretoria station has two dedicated Gautrain bus routes servicing the inner and outer CBD. Attractions worth visiting walking distance from the satoin or easy reachable by the Gautrain bus routes includes Church Square, the Kruger House, the beautiful Morning Star Express Hotel, the Capitol Theatre, the Paul Kruger Church, Sammy Marks House and state Theatre

The Cultural History Museum, Melrose House and City Hall is within walking distance from the station.

Hatfield Station

The Gautrain Hatfield Station is located within the Hatfield Business Node east of the Pretoria CBD.

Attractions such as Loftus Versfeld Stadium, Pretoria Girls High School, The University of Pretoria’s Art Collection and the Brooklyn Mall can all be reached by taking the H1 bus from the Hatfield Station. The H3 route takes you to the Union Buildings, and the H4 to the Waverly Gardens and Waverly Plaza. The H5 stops next to the Menlyn Park Shopping Centre, and close to the LC de Villiers Sport Grounds.

Hatfield Plaza, Hatfield Square and Springbok Park is all walking distance from the station itself.

Centurion Station

Situated near the Centurion Lake at the West Avenue and Gerard Street intersection, the Centurion Station is right across from the Centurion Mall and walking distance from The Centurion Lake Hotel.

The Supersport Centurion Stadium, the Mall@Reds complex and South Down Collage is also easy assecible via the Gautrain bus routes from the station.
